Peter Faulstich

Peter Faulstich (born June 12, 1946 in Frankfurt am Main ; † January 27, 2016 ) was a German educational scientist and professor for adult education / continuing education at the University of Hamburg .

Live and act

Peter Faulstich studied urban and regional planning , educational economics , pedagogy and sociology at the TU Berlin from 1967 to 1976 . He received his doctorate in 1975 with a thesis on educational planning in conflict of interests and completed his habilitation in 1977 in educational science at the TU Berlin. From 1978 to 1992 he was the head of the contact point for scientific further education at the University of Kassel , from 1992 head of the Center for Science Transfer and adjunct professor for professional education at the University of Kassel. Since 1995 he has been Professor of Adult Education / Continuing Education at the University of Hamburg . He became known for his subject-theoretical work on adult education as well as on professional and operational training .

From 1995 to 1999 he was chairman of the adult education commission of the German Society for Educational Science and from 2002 to 2008 he was chairman of the German society for scientific further education (formerly: working group for university adult education).

Faulstich was married to Hannelore Faulstich-Wieland and had two children.
