Peter Feurer

Peter Feurer , called Wigmar († 1553 ), was mayor of the imperial city of Heilbronn from 1551 to 1553 .

Feurer enrolled at the University of Heidelberg on August 10, 1533 , was a judge in 1541 and later a member of the external council in Heilbronn, from 1546 he is registered as mayor. Together with city clerk Gregorius Kugler , he represented the city during the Schmalkaldic War when Heilbronn was handed over to Emperor Karl V in Hall in 1548 and in the reconciliation with King Ferdinand I in Prague in 1549. In 1551 he became mayor of the city of Heilbronn . Feurer initially headed the council of patricians and merchants and from 1552 belonged to the first triad of mayors who, according to the new council constitution by Emperor Charles V, headed a council that consisted only of members of the patriciate . After his death in 1553, his brother Wolf Feurer succeeded him as mayor.

Feurer is also known as Fuir and Fuirer. The family originally came from Hall and belonged there to the "Seven Castle families". The Heilbronner Feurer were related and related by marriage to the Gerhard, Lemlin, Lutwin, von Münchingen and Wigmar. The coat of arms has its origin in Schwäbisch Gmünd and, like the helmet ornament, shows a unicorn that is white from the head to the front half of the body and the back of the body is black.
