Peter Fiedler (politician)

Peter Fiedler (born December 11, 1936 , † December 22, 1982 ) was a German educational scientist and politician ( SED ). He was deputy minister for higher education and technical schools in the GDR .

Life

Fiedler became a member of the Free German Youth (FDJ) in 1951 . From 1955 to 1960 he studied German and history at the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena . From 1960 to 1964 he was First Secretary of the Higher Executive Committee (HSGL) FDJ in Jena, then received a postgraduate and doctorate to Dr. paed. From 1966 to 1972 Fiedler was First Secretary of the University Party Leadership (UPL) of the SED in Jena. From 1973 to 1981 he was Deputy Minister for Higher Education and Technical Education, then First Deputy Director of the Central Institute for Higher Education.

Fiedler was also a member of the university and technical college council of the GDR and was appointed professor .
