Peter Florianschütz

Peter Florianschütz (born May 23, 1960 in Vienna ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ), member of the Vienna State Parliament and member of the Vienna City Council and President of the Austrian-Israeli Society.

School and professional career

Peter Florianschütz attended elementary and secondary school in Vienna between 1966 and 1974. In 1974 he moved to the music-pedagogical upper level secondary school, which he graduated with the Matura in 1978 . He then began studying chemistry at the University of Vienna , in 1982 he started studying political science at the same university, but did not finish either of the two studies. From 1987 to 1988 Florianschütz did his community service .

In 1982 Peter Florianschütz worked as the federal secretary of the student newspapers union group in the union for art, media and liberal professions (kmfb). From 1983 to 1985 he was federal youth secretary for this union. Between 1985 and 1997 Florianschütz worked as a federal youth officer for schoolchildren and student issues in the union of private employees (GPA) and in 1997 moved to the secretariat of the GPA regional management in Vienna. From 2000 Florianschütz was secretary of the technical committees in the GPA Vienna and head of the commercial competition. He is currently an employee of the ÖGB .

Political career

Peter Florianschütz came into politics through his work in the union. 1980 to 1984 he was initially a member of the presidium of the journalists section of the art, media and liberal professions union (kmfb), and between 1980 and 1982 he was also a member of the advisory board of the union working group for journalism and media research and the society for journalism. Between 1983 and 1987 he was a member of the civil service commission and from 1987 to 1992 a member of the school committee of the Austrian Youth Association .

In 1986 Florianschütz joined the SPÖ and in 1998 became chairman of the young generation in the SPÖ Favoriten (until 1988), from 1990 to 1992 he was chairman of the young generation in the SPÖ Vienna. From 2000 to 2007 Florianschütz was district councilor in Favoriten and, according to his own statements, worked in the priority areas of child and youth issues, culture and integration policy. Between January 26 and November 21, 2007 he was a member of the Federal Council for a short time , on October 25, 2007 he succeeded Christian Hursky as a member of the Vienna State Parliament and a member of the local council.

Florianschütz has been a board member of the SPÖ Favoriten since 1996 and has been its section chairman since 1997.

Private

Peter Florianschütz is married and has a son and a daughter.
