Peter Goertz

Peter Görtz (born June 4, 1947 , † July 6, 2013 ) was a German handball player who was part of the German national team.

Life

Peter Görtz played handball for 18 years at VfL Bad Schwartau . The left-hander won the Northern Championship title with VfL in 1966. In 1976 he had to end his career after two knee operations. Görtz previously played ten international matches for the German national team. He took part in the 1970 World Cup.

After his career as a handball player, he taught sports, chemistry and mathematics at a Schwartau secondary school.
