Peter Gentzel (born October 12, 1968 in Gothenburg , Sweden ) is a former Swedish handball goalkeeper .

Career

Between 2001 and 2009 Gentzel played at HSG Nordhorn in the German handball league . For the 2009/2010 season Gentzel moved to the THW Kiel with a one-year contract . then he ended his career as a player.

He has made 227 appearances for the Swedish national team and achieved a number of international successes. He was a member of the Swedish 28-man squad for the 2008 European Championship .

After returning to Sweden in 2010, he also worked on preparing for the 2011 men's handball world championship in his home country. Since the spring of 2011 he has been the administrative head of the “Svensk Elithandboll” association that was founded in 2010.
