Peter Gerwin von Franken-Siersdorf

Peter Gerwin von Franken-Siersdorf (born June 2, 1702 in Cologne ; † August 12, 1763 ibid) was Vicar General of the Archbishop of Cologne .

The nephew of Cologne Auxiliary Bishop Franz Kaspar von Franken-Siersdorf and his predecessor Johann Andreas von Franken-Siersdorf received his doctorate in 1724. jur. and was ordained canon at St. Georg (Cologne) and subdeacon in 1726 . From 1725 professor of law at the University of Cologne and from 1730 onwards at the Laurentaner Gymnasium, in 1730 he was also canon at St. Maria ad Gradus (Cologne) . Ordained a priest on September 7, 1732 , he was also vice-chancellor of the university from 1746 to 1761. Active as vicar general in Cologne since June 2, 1751, he obtained a cathedral canon in 1753 and became Archbishop of Cologne after the death of CologneClemens August I of Bavaria was elected vicar capitular on June 2, 1761 . After his death he was buried in Cologne Cathedral .
