Peter Gierich

Peter Wolfgang Gierich (born April 27, 1936 in Berlin-Pankow ) is a German politician ( CDU ).

Gierich finished his school in 1953 with the secondary school leaving certificate and did an apprenticeship at the school for artistic shop window design in Berlin , which he graduated in 1955. In 1961 he founded his own advertising agency . From 1970 to 1985 he was a commercial clerk in wholesale and later at the Deinhard group . Then Gierich was an independent sales representative and founded a "wine agency".

In 1967 Gierich joined the Junge Union (JU) and the CDU. In the Berlin election in 1971 he was elected to the district assembly in the Wedding district, where he was also parliamentary group chairman. In the following election in 1975 he was elected to the Berlin House of Representatives. In 1990 Gierich was able to win the direct mandate for the Wedding 1 constituency. From 1994 to 2001 he was chairman of the CDU Wedding. After 21 years, he left parliament in 1996.
