Peter Gola

Peter Paul Gola (born May 21, 1940 ) is a German legal scholar , data protection expert and local politician of the FDP .

Gola was a professor of service law at the Wiesbaden Administrative College . He is the author or co-author of numerous publications on German data protection law . From 1996 to 2004 he was Deputy Chairman of the Management Board and from 2004 to 2012 Chairman of the Management Board of the Society for Data Protection and Data Security. After Rolf Schwartmann was elected as his successor on November 21, 2012, he is Honorary Chairman. Gola is a member of the editorial team of the data protection journal Recht der Datenverarbeitung .

Gola was a city council member (from 1976 to 2014) and Vice-Mayor (1989–1994 and 2004–2014) in Königswinter .
