Who stole the rabbi's coke? , Also known as Levy and Goliath , is a French comedy film from the year 1987 the director Gérard Oury .

action

The Jewish diamond cutter Moses lived and worked in the Belgian Antwerp , remaining faithful to his religious convictions. The rabbi's hitherto ideal world is turned upside down when he is on his way to the Renault works with gemstone dust in his luggage . On the train to France, he met Brigitte , who soon after turned out to be a drug smuggler . Through a chain of circumstances, triggered by a police investigation, the drug ends up in Moses' bag. As a result, the rabbi involuntarily becomes a drug smuggler and instead of the dust delivers the heroin to the plant, which incapacitates almost the entire workforce there.

The worst thing about it, however, is the real owner of the drugs: Goliath , a notorious gangster and gang leader, who is now doing everything to get his goods back first from Brigitte and later from Moses. Chased by the crooks, Moses only has the option of going into hiding, which is why he ultimately turns to his brother Albert . The problem with the matter: Both have not spoken to each other for years, as Moses cannot forgive his brother for having married a non-Jewish woman and for running a bar in the Parisian entertainment district of Pigalle . However, he has no choice and ends up hiding in the red light district.

In addition to the associated culture shock, Moses now has to jump over his shadow, Goliath and his gang put down the trade and Brigitte, with whom he has since fallen in love, free from the criminal influence.
