Peter Gröning (born April 29, 1939 in Berlin ) is a former German track cyclist .
Life
He started cycling in 1954, started for SC Dynamo Berlin / Sportvereinigung Dynamo and took part in the 1960 Summer Olympics. There he won the silver medal in the 4000 m team pursuit . Gröning was GDR champion in team pursuit on the track in 1959 with SC Dynamo Berlin (together with Rolf Nitzsche , Lothar Stäber , Manfred Klieme ). At the age of 17 he was appointed to the GDR national railway team and had his first international start in Moscow. The international championship of standing in the Werner-Seelenbinder-Halle in Berlin won 1961.
