Peter Graf (born January 18, 1886 in Kindbergdörfl , Styria, † September 29, 1977 in Klagenfurt ) was an SPÖ politician and mayor of the state capital Klagenfurt.

Peter Graf was born the son of an iron waltz and worked as a waltz boy in the ironworks at the age of 14 and was politically active from an early age. In 1907 he completed military service, was a professional sergeant and took part in World War I, in which he was seriously wounded. Nevertheless, he took part in the Carinthian defensive battle. Then he worked as a private accountant.

In 1932 he became a local councilor in Klagenfurt as well as the founder and chairman of the non-profit settlement cooperative “Vorstadt-Kleinsiedlung”. In 1945 he was appointed provisional city councilor for personnel matters, and in 1946 city councilor for construction. In 1952 he was elected mayor of the city of Klagenfurt and held this office until 1957. After the most urgent needs of the city population had already been satisfied at this point in the post-war period, he now devoted himself to the “More beautiful Klagenfurt” campaign, improved traffic routes, expanded and dedicated city entrances the housing sector. During his tenure in 1955, the British occupation forces withdrew.

In 1966 Klagenfurt made him an honorary citizen . An alley in Wölfnitz is named after him.

Peter Graf died on September 29, 1977 in Klagenfurt and was buried in the central cemetery Annabichl in field 19, row 15, no. Peter Graf was married to Karoline Graf (1883–1971).
