Peter Gustavsson (born March 30, 1958 in Bollebygd ) is a former Swedish ice hockey player who played for the Colorado Rockies in the National Hockey League from 1977 to 1994 . His son Mathias Porseland is also a professional ice hockey player.

Career

Peter Gustavsson began his career as a hockey player at Västra Frölunda , for whose professional team he was initially active from 1977 to 1981 in the Elitserien , the highest Swedish division. In the 1979/80 season he reached the playoff final with his team, in which he was defeated with Västra Frölunda in the best-of-five series Brynäs IF with 2-3 wins. On May 11, 1981, the winger signed a contract as a free agent with the Colorado Rockies , for which he was on the ice in the 1981/82 season in two games in which he remained unpunished and scored in the National Hockey League . However, he spent the rest of the season with their farm team Fort Worth Texans in the Central Hockey League . For the Texans, he scored eight goals in 59 games and provided eleven templates.

In the summer of 1982 Gustavsson returned to his Swedish homeland, where he got a contract with his ex-club Västra Frölunda. With this he had to accept relegation to the second-rate Division 1 in the 1983/84 season . He then remained loyal to the team from Gothenburg and spent five seasons in Division 1 before he and his team in 1989 achieved promotion to the Elitserien. For the 1990/91 season, the Swede signed a contract with the second division Hanhals HF . He then paused for two years with ice hockey before he ran up for the third division Härryda HC in the 1993/94 season. He then ended his career at the age of 36.
