Mathias Porseland (born June 12, 1986 in Gothenburg ) is a Swedish ice hockey player who has been under contract with HPK Hämeenlinna in the Liiga since November 2016 . His father Peter Gustavsson was also an ice hockey player.

Career

Mathias Porseland began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of Frölunda HC , for whose professional team he made his debut in the Elitserien , the top Swedish division, in the 2005/06 season . In his rookie year he remained pointless and punished in five games. From 2006 to 2008, the defender ran for the Bofors IK in the second-rate HockeyAllsvenskan . There he was able to establish himself as a regular in professional ice hockey. He spent the following two years at Rögle BK in the Elitserien, but had to accept relegation to HockeyAllsvenskan with his team in the 2009/10 season . Therefore he competed in the Finnish SM-liiga for HPK Hämeenlinna from 2010 to 2012 .

For the 2012/13 season Porseland was obliged by HC Lev Prague from the Continental Hockey League . A year later he moved to Admiral Vladivostok as part of an exchange deal before he was transferred again in December 2013 - this time to Vitjas Podolsk . In total, he completed over 100 KHL games by early summer 2015 before he was signed by Brynäs IF from Svenska Hockeyligan (formerly Elitserien).
