Peter Hünseler

Peter Hünseler (born September 19, 1948 in Wuppertal ) is a German political scientist .

Life

From 1969 to 1977 , Hünseler studied political science , Catholic theology and Islamic studies at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn and Arabic in Baghdad. From 1977 to 1985 he was a research associate at the research institute of the German Society for Foreign Policy in Bonn and then a representative of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation in the Middle East. In 1986, he was in Hans-Adolf Jacobsen at Bonn University with a thesis on the foreign policy relations of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Arab States from 1949 to 1980 for Dr. phil. PhD. From 1996 to 2002 he was project manager (“The Gulf and Central Asia”) at the Federal Academy for Security Policy in Berlin. This was followed by a teaching position for " Security Policy in the Gulf Region and the Middle East" at the University of Cologne . From 2004 to 2011 he was head of “Cibedo” at the Christian-Islamic Meeting and Documentation Center (CIBEDO), a specialist unit of the German Bishops' Conference , in Frankfurt am Main.
