Peter Harris Tibber

Peter Harris Tibber (born September 7, 1956 ) is a British diplomat .

Life

Peter Tibber received his Masters degree in 1979 and PhD in History from Oxford University in 1983 ; In 2010 he obtained an MBA from the Open University .

In 1984 Peter Tibber joined the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO). There he was employed in the Argentina area. From 1986 to 1988 he was personal assistant to the ambassador in Paris. He then headed the Sanctions Committee in the South Africa Department within the FCO from 1988 to 1990 . From 1990 to 1992 he was the personal assistant to the State Secretary at the FCO. This was followed by a management function in the Turkey section from 1993 to 1997 . In 1997 he went to Mexico City , where he acted as representative of the British ambassador until 2000. In 2000 he accepted the post of head of the department responsible for the major regions of Africa and the Middle East at the stately business development organization UK Trade & Investment (UKTI). In 2001 he was promoted to director in "International Management" and from 2002 to 2004 he was in the "International Sectors Group" of UKTI. From 2005 to 2009 he held the post of Consul General in Düsseldorf and headed the trade mission in Germany before he was appointed Deputy High Commissioner in Islamabad , Pakistan , from September 2009 to September 2011 . In November 2011, as an interim solution, he took over the post of High Commissioner in the Kenyan capital Nairobi , which overlapped with his work as Ambassador to Sudan , which he began in August 2011, until the arrival of Christian Turner's official successor (May 2012) . He served in Sudan until August 2015. He is now doing this job in Bogotá , Colombia .

Dr. Tibber is married and has three sons.
