Peter Inselkammer (restaurateur, 1940)

Peter Inselkammer (* 1940 ) is a German innkeeper and entrepreneur from the Inselkammer family .

Life

Peter Inselkammer is the youngest of the three sons of Franz Seraph Inselkammer and his wife Maria Kreszenz Zehentmair. His brothers are Franz (* 1935) and August Inselkammer (1938–2019).

His professional career began after training as a brewer and maltster and graduating from the Hotel Management School Bad Wiessee in 1969 in Ayinger Hof in Perlach . In 1973 he took over the management of the restaurants and entertainment venues Platzl KG from his father and has been the operator of the Platzl Hotel ever since . From 1986 to 1988 he had the hotel rebuilt and gradually expanded his property on Platzl . In addition to the hotel, the Platzl 1 building and the Pfistermühle restaurant , the Ayingers am Platzl pub has also been owned by the hotel since 2000 . The Platzl-Gassen were added a little later.

In 1972 Peter Inselkammer applied for the first time as an Oktoberfest host . After running the small Platzl-Wirt tent with around 80 places at the Munich Oktoberfest from 1985 to 1989 , he took over the Armbrustschützenzelt in 1990 . After 25 years he retired and in 2015 handed over the management to his eldest son Peter junior. In 2000, he became the managing director of the restaurants and entertainment venues Platzl KG, and in 2014 he took over the operational management of the Platzl Hotel.

Peter Inselkammer has three children with his wife Josefa: Peter (* 1970), Gabriela and Franz.
