Peter Jentzmik

Peter Jentzmik (born May 17, 1943 in Limburg an der Lahn ) is a German Catholic theologian and religious philosopher.

Life

In 1962 Jentzmik began studying German / Medieval Studies , Philosophy and Catholic Theology at the University of Freiburg . In the same year he joined the Catholic German Student Union Hohenstaufen zu Freiburg im Breisgau. In the years up to 1970 Jentzmik first moved to the University of Innsbruck , then to the University of Marburg , where Jentzmik completed his studies.

In the following years he initially worked as a research assistant in the Wolfram Research Center at the Institute for Older German Philology at the University of Marburg, before receiving his doctorate in philosophy in 1973 with the dissertation on the possibilities and limits of typological exegesis in medieval sermons and poetry .

After receiving his doctorate in 1973, Jentzmik moved to the Fürst-Johann-Ludwig-Schule in Hadamar as a high school teacher in 1974 , where he taught German, Catholic religion and Hebrew until his retirement in 2006. From 1984 to 1989 he was commissioned by the Hessian Minister of Education to revise the Hessian course structure plan for the subject of Catholic religion. In addition to his teaching activity, Jentzmik trained as a Shiatsu therapist for acupressure therapy from 1992 to 1994 . In 1993 he founded Glaukos Verlag, publishing house for literature and science based in Limburg . From 2007 to 2017 he taught Hebrew at the Philosophical-Theological College / University of Vallendar .

In 2003, at the suggestion of Eugen Biser , Jentzmik was appointed a full member of class VII (world religions) of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts in Salzburg . From 2002 to 2011 he was a member of the board of trustees of the Eugen Biser Foundation in Munich. Jentzmik has been a member of the St. Hildegard Academy Eibingen, center for science, research and European spirituality, since 2019.
