Peter Joseph von Buschmann

Peter Joseph von Buschmann (born March 1704 in Cologne ; † November 11, 1766 there ) was canon and canon in Cologne.

Buschmann came from the baronial Buschmann family. The father was a court commissioner. His brothers were Christian August Josef von Buschmann (Cathedral Priest of Cologne. Dechant to St. Aposteln), and Johann Gottfried Josef von Buschmann (Privy Councilor, mayor of the cathedral monastery in Anstel and owner of the Arff estate)

On December 19, 1753, Buschmann took over the Cologne Cathedral canon from his uncle Dr. Christian August von Buschmann and was at the same time canon at the collegiate churches of St. Gereon Scholaster in Cologne and the churches of St. Ursula, from 1759 to 1765, and St. Andreas .

A life-size portrait of a Bushman can be found at Arff Castle . Buschmann maintained good relations with the canons Quentel and Königsegg-Rothenfels , who later became the archbishop .

He is buried in a crypt in Cologne Cathedral .
