Peter Jossen

Peter Jossen (born January 26, 1955 in Stalden ; resident in Naters ) is a Swiss politician ( SP ).

Career

After the compulsory school he went through in Naters and Stalden , he attended the Rebstein Progymnasium from 1968-70. 1970-76 he was in the college in Brig and obtained his Latin Matura in 1976. 1976-80 he studied law in Freiburg im Üechtland and graduated with a licentiate. After a one-year internship in Sion , he received the notary's diploma from the canton of Valais. After another internship in Visp , he was admitted to the bar in 1982. Since then he has been an independent lawyer and notary and runs a joint law firm with Peter Volken in Brig and Leuk .

In 1980 he was a founding member of the Upper Valais Environment and Transport Group and in 1982 of the Upper Valais Social Democratic Party , as its secretary until 1999. From 1997–99 he was a member of the Cantonal Council, and from the 1999 elections to the 2003 elections he represented the Canton of Valais in the National Council. Since 2001 he has presided over the Swiss hiking trails . Since 2008 he has chaired the board of directors of bio.inspecta AG in Frick. Peter Jossen also supports the advisory board of SQS (Swiss Association for Quality and Management Systems).

Peter Jossen was married to Tildi Zinsstag from 1980 to 2010. Since 2011, Jossen has been in a relationship with Ruth Genner (born January 13, 1956), a Swiss politician (Greens) who was, among other things, a national councilor and city councilor in Zurich.
