Peter Jost (musicologist)

Peter Jost (* 1960 in Diefflen ) is a German musicologist .

biography

From 1981 Peter Jost studied musicology, German and comparative literature at the University of Saarbrücken . With a dissertation on forest scenes , Op. 82 by Robert Schumann , he received his doctorate in 1988. In 1990/91 he received a scholarship from the German Research Foundation. Since November 1991 he has been a research assistant at the Richard Wagner Complete Edition in Munich . Since 2004 he has also been a lecturer at the University of Augsburg .

The focus of Jost's research lies in the history of music from the 19th to 20th centuries and in studies of German and French music.
