Peter Kinzing (born December 21, 1745 in Neuwied ; † January 1816 in Mannheim ) was a German watchmaker and mechanic .

Peter Kinzing came from the watchmaking family Kinzing (Kintzing), who belonged to the Mennonite religious community in Neuwied. He was a ducal Nassau court watchmaker and a royal French court watchmaker and mechanic.

The Kin (t) zing family achieved fame in Europe in the 18th century through their collaboration with the cabinet-making family around Abraham and David Roentgen . Important members of this family were Christian Kintzing (1707-1804) and his son Peter Kinzing (1745-1816). From 1770 intensive cooperation between the Kinzing watchmaker's workshop and the Roentgen carpentry workshop.

Travels to Paris with David Roentgen, where Marie-Antoinette is appointed "horloger de la reine" .

After 1785 construction of a series of musical clocks with organ and cymbal (lat. Cymbal).

Kinzing watches are now in the collections of major museums around the world.
