Peter Krause (voice actor)

Peter Krause (* 1957 in Freyung ) is a German journalist and voice actor . Krause was known primarily as a German tribe spokesman for the Disney -Figur Donald Duck .

Life

Peter Krause, the son of a nurse and a Federal Intelligence Service employee, spent the first three years of his life in Bavaria. In 1960 his father got the offer to move to New York with the family . During this time, Krause came into contact with cartoons for the first time. But in 1964 the family moved back to Germany and from then on lived in Munich . When he was 10, Krause learned to speak like Donald Duck from his cousin during the summer vacation.

Krause dropped out of high school a few years later and began to work as a drummer and music manager. In 1982 Peter Krause moved to West Berlin , where he worked as a taxi driver for 8 years.

During this time he applied twice as a voice actor for Donald Duck: in 1982 for Sender Freies Berlin and 1984 for Disney USA . His offer was dropped both times because cartoons were too expensive to produce at the time.

However, Wrong Game with Roger Rabbit hit theaters in 1988 . The film ensured that Disney now showed interest in keeping the dubbed versions as close to the original as possible. Krause's next application as a voice actor was a success. People were enthusiastic about his voice and a little later had him re-dub all previous cartoons. His voice can now be heard in over 450 films.

In 1998 Peter Krause started as a journalist a. a. to work for Westdeutscher Rundfunk , Deutschlandfunk , Südwestrundfunk and Bayerischer Rundfunk .

For several years now, Krause has been touring Germany with his show “The Donald Duck in Peter Krause”.
