from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Peter Lücker (born July 18, 1875 in Klosterkumbd ; † February 5, 1957 in Weitefeld ) was a German headmaster , local researcher and honorary citizen of Weitefeld.

Life

Lücker took his first teacher examination in 1896, and after a brief teaching activity in Niederschelderhütte and Winnersbach , he was transferred to Weitefeld on November 1, 1900 . On July 1, 1909, Peter Lücker was promoted to main teacher at the Weitefeld elementary school. The final appointment as headmaster at the same school was transferred to him on April 1, 1920, which he held until his retirement on October 1, 1937. Due to the turmoil of the war, he worked in the same position until April 30, 1938 and from September 15, 1939 to December 1, 1944.

The 1100th anniversary of the Weitefeld community could be celebrated as a result of research by Peter Lücker in 1948. This ceremony was the occasion to give him honorary citizenship - for his work as an educator and homeland researcher.

He was to stay in his second home, Weitefeld, until his death on February 5, 1957. He was buried in the local cemetery.

Act

His work made a two-fold impression on the local history of the Daadener Land: his teaching activity for a total of 43 years, during which he shaped generations of students in “his” school in Weitefeld. He was also interested in local history, which went far beyond the "normal" level of a homeland researcher. For the Daadener Land and especially for the local community of Weitefeld, Peter Lücker's creative power was very valuable, as his publications, research and findings are often still current today. Even today's local researchers, Peter Lücker's work still offers plenty of information and a basis for further work and discoveries. In this context it must be mentioned that Peter Lücker was instrumental in founding the Weitefeld fruit plantation, which has existed to this day.
