Peter Lanz
Peter Lanz (born May 27, 1930 in Berlin ) is a German architect .
Life
Peter Lanz, born in Berlin-Charlottenburg as the son of a lawyer and notary , studied architecture at the State Building School in Munich from 1951 . In 1954 he graduated there as the best of his year. He first worked at Sep Ruf and studied architecture at the Technical University of Munich . After receiving his diploma in 1958, he set up his own office after initial competition successes.
In addition to extensive planning and construction work, Peter Lanz was, among other things, Bavarian state chairman and member of the executive committee of the Association of German Architects (BDA), a member of the Bavarian Senate (1986–2000), the Munich city planning commission and a board member of the Bavarian Chamber of Architects . From 1992 to 2002 Lanz was President of the Association of Liberal Professions in Bavaria , and since 2003 he has been its Honorary President.
In addition to several BDA prizes, Peter Lanz's buildings have been awarded the City of Munich's prize for good housing four times . A large number of his buildings have contributed to today's cityscape of Munich. His buildings for the 1972 Olympic Games already attracted a lot of attention .
Peter Lanz married Ingeborg von Wrede , née Hamberger (* 1944) in 1994 .
