Peter Leibfried

Peter Leibfried (born June 10, 1947 in Ludwigshafen am Rhein ; † November 12, 2014 in Trippstadt ) was a German SPD politician.

Life and education

Leibfried attended elementary school in Ludwigshafen am Rhein and did an administration apprenticeship there. He later studied at the Administration and Business Academy in Ludwigshafen am Rhein and obtained a degree in administration and business administration as well as an administration diploma. He was a bailiff in Ludwigshafen and Bad Dürkheim.

Political activities

From 1980 to 2000 he was mayor of the Kaiserslautern-Süd community , from 1989 to 2002 a member of the district council and district deputy of the district of Kaiserslautern. He was at times leader of the SPD parliamentary group in the district council and spokesman for the Rhineland-Palatinate community and city federation .

After reunification, the Thuringian State Chancellery appointed him State Commissioner . From 2001 to 2004 he was state commissioner at the Vieselbach sewage association . From 2002 to 2006 he was State Commissioner in Blankenhain . There he reorganized the local government and helped to discharge the community.
