The Verbandsgemeinde Kaiserslautern-Süd was an administrative unit in the legal form of a regional body in the district of Kaiserslautern in Rhineland-Palatinate . The Verbandsgemeinde belonged to six independent local congregations , the administrative seat was in the city of Kaiserslautern , which, however, did not belong to the Verbandsgemeinde.
On July 1, 2019, the Verbandsgemeinde merged with the Verbandsgemeinde Landstuhl to form the new Verbandsgemeinde Landstuhl .

history
The Verbandsgemeinde Kaiserslautern-Süd came into force on April 22, 1972 as part of the Rhineland-Palatinate functional and territorial reform based on the “Thirteenth State Law on Administrative Simplification in the State of Rhineland-Palatinate” of March 1, 1972 1972, newly formed.
Previously, the administrative structures originating from the Palatinate (Bavaria) (1816–1946) essentially applied in the then administrative district of Palatinate .

The last Verbandsgemeinderat Kaiserslautern-Süd consisted of 28 voluntary council members who were elected in a personalized proportional representation in the 2014 local elections , and the full-time mayor as chairman. Their term of office ended on June 30, 2019 by state law.

The blazon of the arms reads: "In four times of silver and green split sign board in quadrisected sign up right in red a golden orb, with blue tires and golden cross, top left in silver an upright green acorn with two green oak leaves, bottom right Silver, two erect rainbows arched against each other, striped with red and gold and blue, and five silver bolls in black on the lower left. "
The coat of arms was approved by the Neustadt district government in 1979 .
