Peter Meyer (journalist)

Peter Meyer (born August 7, 1968 in Püttlingen ) is a German journalist .

Meyer studied political science at the Saarland University in Saarbrücken and at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem . During his studies he worked as a journalist in the print sector.

After completing his studies, Meyer was deputy government spokesman and spokesman for the Ministry of the Interior, Family, Women and Sport in Saarland for five years , where he was also responsible for marketing.

Since April 2005 he has been head of central marketing at Saarländischer Rundfunk (SR). Since July 2006, Peter Meyer has headed the newly tailored SR communications department, which includes press and public relations as well as the station's marketing.

On January 1, 2007, the ARD chairmanship and thus also the ARD press office changed to Saarländischer Rundfunk. Peter Meyer became the new ARD press spokesman parallel to his other duties at SR .
