Peter Nagel (born November 18, 1963 in Soest ) is a German sculptor living in Düsseldorf .

life and work

Nagel grew up in Soest, where he graduated from high school in 1983. In the same year he began studying sculpture at the Düsseldorf Art Academy with Professors Tony Cragg and Alfonso Hüppi . In 1986 he received 1st prize from the Hedwig and Robert Samuel Foundation , Düsseldorf; In 1987 the Ernst Forberg grant from the Düsseldorf Art Academy and in 1988 the Bernhard Hoetger grant from the Düsseldorf Art Academy. In 1988 he became a master student of Alfonso Hüppi. In 1993 he received both a DAAD scholarship for the USA and a support booth at Art Cologne from the Galerie Carla Stützer, Cologne. In 1996 he received the audience award at the 50th Bergische Kunstausstellung inSolingen .
