Peter Polleruhs

Peter Polleruhs (born October 28, 1949 in Kapfenberg , Styria ) is an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ).

Life

Peter Polleruhs grew up in the community of Aflenz Land , where he attended elementary school from 1956 to 1960 . After secondary school , which he attended in Thörl until 1964 , he enrolled at the HTBL Kapfenberg , where he obtained his degree in electrical engineering in 1969 .

The trained electrical engineer found work as a technical employee at the Pengg company in Einöd from 1970 ; he stayed with the company for 21 years, until 1991. Then Polleruhs became managing director of Maschinenbau Koller in Seebach .

In 1980 Polleruhs went into politics when he was elected to the local council of Aflenz Land for the ÖVP . Just one year later, Polleruhs became Deputy Mayor in 1981, and another seven years later, in May 1988, Mayor. In 1991 he was elected district chairman of the Austrian People's Party for the Bruck an der Mur district.

At the federal political level, Polleruhs was a member of the Federal Council in Vienna from May 1993 to January 2002 .

In January 2009 Peter Polleruhs retired from all political functions into private life after almost 19 years as Aflenz's mayor.
