Peter Raffl (born February 2, 1960 in Villach ) is a former Austrian ice hockey player and current coach . The striker played his entire career at EC VSV in the Austrian ice hockey league . After finishing his playing time, he entered the coaching business.
Career
Raffl began his career as a youth at EC VSV - at the age of 17 he made his debut in the Austrian ice hockey league . In the course of his career he scored a total of 176 goals in 494 first division games. Raffl played continuously for the VSV for over 20 years and was instrumental in three championship titles.
Raffl also took part in two Olympic Winter Games and six World Championships with the Austrian national team.
After he ended his career in 1998, he became a junior coach at VSV - he currently trains the U20 team. His two sons Thomas and Michael also became ice hockey professionals and both began their careers with VSV.
