Peter Raisch (police officer)
Peter Raisch (born April 11, 1946 in Mannheim ; † January 4, 2010 in Wiesbaden ) was a German police officer and until his death in January 2010 he was president of the Hessian State Criminal Police Office in Wiesbaden.
Raisch completed an apprenticeship as a locksmith and later became a police officer in Baden-Württemberg. First he was trained in security, patrol and traffic service before he switched to the criminal police. Raisch was involved in the establishment of the State Criminal Police Office of Saxony from 1991 , of which he later became president.
On October 1, 2003 he was appointed President of the Hessian State Criminal Police Office. He remained in this position until his sudden death on January 4, 2010 from a heart attack.
Raisch's predecessor as President was Norbert Nedela , who subsequently took over the role of State Police President . His successor was Sabine Thurau .
