Peter Ramsebner

Peter Ramsebner (* 1967 in Wiener Neustadt ) is an Austrian sculptor and painter .

Life

Peter Ramsebner grew up in Saalfelden and came to Vienna at the age of 19 . From 1986 he studied painting at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna under Adolf Frohner and graduated in 1991 with a diploma. He spent two years in Berlin, where he exchanged ideas with various artists, including Roberto Bosisio.

At the beginning of his artistic career Ramsebner mainly painted figurative pictures in egg tempera , later also in oil. This period of his artistic creation ended in 1996.

Through additional sculptural work that Peter Ramsebner carried out as part of his work as a restorer , working in three dimensions opened up to him more and more in the years that followed. Peter Ramsebner has been working as a sculptor since 2006. The artist prefers to work with wood as a material.

The representations in the form of heads, figures and objects are, according to Ramsebner, condensed documentation of his own experiences.

Peter Ramsebner lives in Vienna-Liesing .
