Peter Schmitz (actor)

Peter Joseph Schmitz (born November 29, 1923 in Linz am Rhein ; † February 10, 2006 ) was a German actor in the stage, film and television industry.

Live and act

Schmitz received his acting training shortly after the end of the Second World War in Siegburg rather he then went to the theater in Frankfurt am Main, Wiesbaden and Worms. In the 1950s, Schmitz only started working as a freelancer. At this time he also appeared in front of film cameras for the first time, but since 1955 has concentrated on working for television. At first he embodied mostly simple characters: a worker, a service technician, a lieutenant, a hiker and every now and then a policeman. In later years Schmitz was seen as a guest in individual episodes of television series, and he also appeared twice in a crime scene . Schmitz has also taken on numerous radio roles, worked for school radio and done dubbing. He has a son.
