On June 22, 1937, he was finally appointed district administrator of the Brilon district and stayed here - with interruptions from January 1941 to May 1942 (as district administrator in Meschede) and from February 1, 1944 (as head of civil administration in Bialystok) until for recall by the District President Arnsberg on May 17, 1945 in office.

Because of his membership in the NSDAP (1932) and the SS (1933) as well as his activity as chairman of the NSDAP district party court in Hamm, he was classified in the denazification process in 1947 initially in category V and one year later in category IV (fellow travelers). A later retrial was rejected by the Interior Ministry. From 1952 to 1956 (waiver of mandate) he was represented as a member of the FDP in the district assembly of Brilon. During this time he worked as a lawyer in Brilon.
