Peter Selmer

Peter Selmer (born July 22, 1934 in Neumünster ) is a German legal scholar .

Selmer studied law at the Universities of Kiel and Frankfurt am Main . In 1956 he became a member of the Corps Palaiomarchia-Masovia and Austria . In 1961 he passed the first state examination. In 1971 he completed his habilitation in Frankfurt with a thesis on tax interventionism and constitutional law. After a brief activity at the University of Mainz , he accepted the appointment of the University of Hamburg to the chair for public law , finance and tax law . In 2001 he retired .

In addition, after reunification , he was committed to rebuilding the law faculty of the University of Rostock ; he was a member of its founding commission.
