Peter Stuhlmann (lawyer)

Peter Stuhlmann († 1435 or 1436) was electoral councilor in Brandenburg and canon .

Life

Peter Stuhlmann came from Kulmbach in Franconia . He was probably related to the electoral councilor and pastor Friedrich Stuhlmann . Peter Stuhlmann enrolled in Vienna in 1412 and 1415 . From 1417 he studied canon law in Padua , in which he received his doctorate in 1421 .

In 1423/24 it was first mentioned as a councilor for Elector Friedrich I , who also came from Upper Franconia. In the following years he worked as envoy and decision maker in legal matters for the latter. Peter Stuhlmann was canon in the Haug monastery in Würzburg , Ansbach and Bamberg .

He was mentioned for the last time on June 17, 1435, and died on December 6, 1436. The future bishop and chancellor Friedrich Stuhlmann was probably his son or nephew.
