Peter and Michael Spierig

The twins Peter and Michael Spierig (born April 29, 1976 in Buchholz in the Nordheide ), also known as the Spierig Brothers (English. The Spierig Brothers ), are German- Australian filmmakers.

Life

The identical twins were born in Buchholz in the North Heath in Lower Saxony as the sons of John and Marianne Spierig. When the two were four years old, the family moved to Sydney , where the Spierig brothers grew up. Even then, Peter and Michael were making films with their father's video camera as a hobby, which were shown at local festivals and events.

The family later moved to Brisbane , where Peter and Michael studied at Griffith University at the Queensland College of Art. Michael specialized in graphic design while Peter studied film and television. Larger companies quickly became aware of the Spierig brothers through their short films, which the two continued to shoot during their studies. They were hired to shoot commercials for clients like Coca-Cola and Universal Studios .

In 2003 her first full-length film was finally released, the horror film Undead .

Apart from Jigsaw (2017), Peter and Michael Spierig have directed and written the script for all of their films. Sometimes they were also responsible for editing , music or production .
