Peter Stahlecker
Peter Stahlecker (* 1949 ) is a German economist . He holds the Chair of Econometrics at the Institute for Statistics and Econometrics at the University of Hamburg .
Life
Peter Stahlecker received his doctorate in 1982 from the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz University of Hanover . The topic of his dissertation was concentration and macroeconomic stability. A theoretical and empirical analysis .
In 1986 he obtained his habilitation , also at the University of Hanover. His habilitation thesis was entitled A priori information and minimax estimation in the linear regression model. Approaches to the integration of econometrics and economic theory . From 1986 to 1990 Stahlecker was Professor of Economic Theory at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz . From 1990 to 1993 he took over the professorship for economic theory at the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg .
Since 1993, Peter Stahlecker Professor of Econometrics at the Department of Business Administration (BWL) at the University of Hamburg.
His teaching activities at the University of Hamburg include the areas of introduction to econometrics, advanced econometrics, seminars on econometrics, recent developments in econometrics, allocation theory and competition , economics in the face of uncertainty, seminars on economic theory, optimization and economic analysis, and basic studies in mathematics .
Research priorities
His current research interests are forecasting and estimation methods for prior information, decision theory and fuzzy quantities as well as empirical economic research.
