Peter Stauber

Peter Stauber (born April 15, 1953 in Lavamünd ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ).

Life

From 1972 to 1974 Peter Stauber was a post office worker, then he visited the PÄDAK . From 1977 to 1997 he worked as a secondary school teacher.

He is married and has three grown children. His son Oliver is a co-founder of the Section Without a Name (SPÖ).

Political career

From 1974 to 1977 he was chairman of the socialist students at the PÄDAK and in 1988 chairman of the SPÖ section Eitweg - Gemmersdorf . In 1991 he became the first vice mayor of St. Andrä . Since 1997 he has been city party chairman of St. Andrä, district party chairman and mayor of St. Andrä. After the National Council election in 2006 , he became a member of the National Council . He was re-elected in the mayoral elections in 2009 and 2015.

Stauber was a member of parliament from 2006 to 2013. In 2020 he was succeeded by Maria Knauder (SPÖ) as Mayor of St. Andrä.
