Peter Van Vlodrop

Peter Van Vlodrop (born July 9, 1928 in Süchteln ) is a German local politician and honorary district administrator ( CDU ).

Life and work

After attending school, he completed an apprenticeship as a wholesaler from 1943 to 1946 . He worked as a commercial clerk for various employers. From 1962 to 1963 he completed further training ( bank clerk ). He then worked in various functions at savings banks (most recently as chairman of the board). Van Vlodrop is married and has six children.

He was a member of the district council of the former Kempen-Krefeld district from March 23, 1970 until the regional reform on December 31, 1974. He was then until October 17, 1979 a member of the district council of Viersen . From March 22, 1970 to May 22, 1975 van Vlodrop was district administrator .

From 1956 to 1969 he was a member of the municipal council of the municipality of Süchteln and from 1961 to 1969 its mayor . He was a member of the city council of Viersen from 1975 to 1989. He was active in many party committees of the CDU and worked in various committees of the district council of North Rhine-Westphalia. In addition, Van Vlodrop has been chairman of the district's Caritas association since 1986 and on the advisory board of the Malteser Relief Service .

On May 3, 1978 Van Vlodrop was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon and on May 11, 1982 the Federal Cross of Merit 1st Class. Government Vice President Dieter Krell presented Van Vlodrop with the Grand Cross of Merit of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany on March 4, 1998.
