Peter "Peavy" Wagner (born December 22, 1964 in Herne in the Ruhr area ) is a German musician. He is the bass player , singer and main songwriter for the band Rage .

biography

Peter Wagner is the second child of a total of four siblings. His parents were both teachers and enthusiastic amateur musicians ( early music , instrumental and vocal). From the beginning, they encouraged the children's interest in music. Peter Wagner started with the classical guitar . After a few years of music lessons, he decided to switch to the electric guitar . First inspirations were among others the Beatles , Rush , Motörhead and Judas Priest . In the 1980s, when the term “ heavy metal ” became established, Wagner founded his first band: The Dark Lights. Later - inspired by Lemmy Kilmister - he switched from guitar to bass. In 1983 Wagner joined the band Avenger, which was renamed Rage in 1986 .

“Peavy” Wagner is the creative head of Rage and, after more than 30 years of band history, remains the only founding member. Wagner also took part in the first two albums of the German progressive metal band Mekong Delta and made a guest appearance as bassist on Axel Rudi Pell's album Black Moon Pyramid .
