Peter Wilhelm von Carnap
Peter Wilhelm von Carnap (born March 26, 1752 in Elberfeld (now part of Wuppertal ); † April 4, 1824 there ) was a merchant and councilor in Elberfeld.
The son of Peter von Carnap (* 1716 in Elberfeld, † 1758 in Elberfeld) and Johanna Maria Meyer (* 1724 in Elberfeld, † 1788 in Elberfeld) Peter Wilhelm received in Elberfeld on April 1, 1752 christened .
On July 12, 1780 he married Helena Christina von Carnap (1762–1807) in Elberfeld and had 14 children with her.
In 1787 Peter Wilhelm von Carnap was mayor of the city of Elberfeld, a second time in 1804. He was the city judge of Elberfeld in 1788 and 1805. He was also a co-founder of the Elberfeld Johannisloge .
His brother Kaspar von Carnap (1755-1823) was mayor of Elberfeld in 1794.
