Daniel Adolf Weber

Daniel Adolf Weber (born December 27, 1730 in Mußbach ; † January 1, 1794 in Elberfeld ) was the mayor of Elberfeld.

Weber was born the son of pastor David Gottfried Weber (* 1692 in Kreuznach, † 1745 in Iggelsheim) and his wife Johanna Maria Fuchs. Weber married Maria Magdalena Cappel (1737–1792) from Elberfeld on July 31, 1766 and in 1767 acquired citizenship in Elberfeld at the highest rate. In Elberfeld, Weber founded a silk ribbon factory that was important for the city. From 1769 to 1771 he was a commoner and from 1777 to 1778 a councilor. From 1770 he was proposed six times for the office of mayor, through his marriage he had been able to build extensive relationships until he was elected for the first time in 1788 in the seventh attempt. His wife was the granddaughter of Johann Peter Cappel (1715) and Wilhelm von Carnap (1718, 1725), as well as the niece of Johann Kaspar Cappel (1754), Kaspar von Carnap (1751) and Johannes Plücker . One year after his election he was appointed city judge on a rotating basis.

He had four children with his wife.
