Peter Zmrzlík from welding

Peter Zmrzlík von Schweing "the Elder" (Czech Petr Zmrzlík ze Svojšína (starší) ), († 14/16 August 1421 ), was a Bohemian nobleman, member of the royal council and mint master of King Wenceslas IV. He came from the noble family of the Zmrzlík from welding .

The favorite of the Bohemian king had been the highest mint master of the Bohemian kingdom since 1406 . He translated some works from Latin into the Czech language. He also represented the teaching of the Bohemian reformer Jan Hus , with whom he was close friends. At the beginning of the Hussite Wars he fought at the side of the Hussite leader Jan Žižka . Shortly before his death he was appointed captain of Kuttenberg by the Hussites .

He was married to Anna von Friedberg (Anna z Frymburka) and left three sons Peter , Johann and Wenzel, to whom he bequeathed Burg Worlik , Bresnitz , Kasejovice , Schluesselburg , Karlsberg , Tochovice , Oheb , Wildstein and Schleb .
