Peter zur Mühlen (born August 25, 1945 ) is a German entrepreneur in the meat industry and eponymous founder of the Zur-Mühlen Group .

He is little known to the public, there are "hardly any photos, no interviews and only scant information about his professional career," reported the Wirtschaftswoche . He began his career in 1968 as an advertising manager at the Meica meat product factory in Edewecht . From 1970 he worked as an assistant to the management of the Tetra works in Melle . In 1971 he finally joined the sausage manufacturer Stockmeyer in Sassenberg in the Münsterland as marketing director , where he was on the board for 10 of a total of 20 years. In 1991 he acquired 10 percent of the yoghurt manufacturer Onken in Moers on the Lower Rhine and worked there until the surprising end of 1998. In the same year, at the age of 50, he acquired the sausage manufacturer Böklunder near Flensburg and expanded it into a large corporation in a few years after the turn of the millennium ailing or even insolvent companies bought, restructured and, with the help of its large customers in the food trade, quickly helped to generate sales.

Since the sale of the entire group to Clemens Tönnies , he has continued to act as the head of the company he founded, together with another board member.
