Petermann von Krauchthal († 1425 ) was mayor of the city ​​of Bern .

Life

Petermann von Krauchthal became castvogt of the Rüeggisberg monastery in 1378/79 , from 1394 to 1396 he was mayor of Thun, in 1398 patron of the Thorberg Charterhouse and Vogt zu Kirchberg. He had extensive property that reached into the Oberland and was mayor of Bern from 1407 to 1418. In 1425 he died childless. He bequeathed cash and silver to his wife Anna von Velschen, one third of the Gurzelen rulership, the Eichi estate, vines in Altenberg, Bümpliz castle and rulership , and the Thorberg Charterhouse, he bequeathed his Sässhaus with farmstead, garden and neighboring houses on Kirchgasse in Bern, half the tithe at Konolfingen, the entire Konolfingen rule, the Bolligen rule, estates in Geristein, Linden, Möschberg, Ursellen, Konolfingen and Mirchel.

His widow Anna von Velschen made numerous testamentary gifts, including the Kreuzmatte to the rope hospital .

The grave slab for Petermann von Krauchthal is in today's Krauchthal Chapel of the Bern Minster . In his will, Petermann von Krauchthal donated 200 pounds to the building of the chapel.
