The Petkumer Sieltief is a body of water in the city of Emden in East Frisia .

The Petkumer Sieltief branches off north of Petkum from the Fehntjer Tief . It flows straight to the south and in the Petkum district of Emden through a sluice into the Ems .
Over a period of several centuries it was used in its lower reaches to remove peat from the East Frisian Fehen . The peat ships traveling on the canal brought the material on the East Frisian canal network up to the far west of the Krummhörn villages . On their way back into the Fehnsiedlungen the Torfschiffer often took clay soil from the march and the manure of cattle with which they their home were dug fertilized land.
The Alte Siel from 1857/58 including the associated Sielhaus, an agricultural building, is a listed building.
