Integrated rural development concept

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

An integrated rural development concept ( ILEK for short ) is a special concept for rural development that aims to further develop rural areas at the same time as living, working, recreational and natural areas. This concept aims to take into account various fields of action as comprehensively as possible. Special account should be taken of typical regional characteristics, and regional internal forces should be activated and regional networks built up. An ILEK can be understood as a further development of an agricultural structural development plan (AEP) .

Content structure

The basis of an ILEK is a SWOT analysis (strengths and weaknesses analysis) of the current state of a region. In addition, goals and fields of action are named, which must be taken into account in the short, medium and long term. The plan of action developed in this way is intended to ensure that the measures and actions of various regional actors interact in the development of a region and serve the jointly defined goal.

The action plans include aspects of village design and renewal , demographic development , infrastructure , regional planning , agricultural areas , natural areas and tourism . The approach developed by the EU LEADER program is thus applied to all areas of rural development.

advancement

The creation of an integrated rural development concept is subsidized by the European Union or the regionally competent authorities under certain conditions. The projects developed in the ILEK can also be funded if necessary.
