Petr Sabach
Petr Šabach (born August 23, 1951 in Prague ; † September 16, 2017 there ) was a Czech writer .
Life
Petr Šabach was the son of a soldier and grew up in Prague. From 1974 he studied cultural studies at the Philosophical Faculty of Charles University in Prague . His diploma thesis in 1979 dealt with the transmission of cultural values in families. Starting in 1975, he published his first short stories while still a student. Before the publication of his first novel Jak potopit Austrálii , Šabach worked in various professions until 1987, including as a night watchman and caretaker. His often humorous and satirical books were later filmed several times, including Hovno hoří on the Kuschelnester staged by Jan Hřebejk and published in 1999 .
